Soulful Pop Singer-Songwriter Ava Heatley Shares Emotive & Reflective Single "Party"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer-songwriter Ava Heatley shares an emotive new single titled "Party" today. An immersive and reflective track opens up about her struggle with anxiety. Raw and beautifully honest, she blends soulful pop and layered harmonies, for a moving and relatable experience.

In the track, Heatley describes being alone and unhappy at a party, confessing her desire to slip away and go home. It's a window into the emotions of those who suffer anxiety, while remaining relatable for all. Heatley shared, "'Party' is about my struggle with anxiety. Lyrically, it describes feeling uncomfortable in your own skin but I also wanted this song to sound like how a panic attack feels by using airy guitars, monotonous piano and a doubled vocal that surrounds the listener. I asked a bunch of friends to record themselves talking for this track and laid it as a bottom layer at the end of the track to help add to the overwhelming chaos the song erupts into."
She wrote the track after experiencing a panic attack while attending a friends party, with no direct reason or trigger. "I was really interested in the dichotomy of being at a party where you are supposed to be relaxed and having fun, countered by the overwhelming uncomfortable feeling that anxiety brings when it pops up," Heatley reflected. "Even though this song is set at a party I wanted to include elements in the verses that could be applied to any situation where anxiety can set it - and for me that could be literally anywhere."

Heatley recorded the track with her friend and producer Ben Durland. The single follows her previous track "Shitty Tattoo" released this past summer with an accompanying music video, and 2018 EP Beautiful/Terrifying. Much of Heatley's material comes as cathartic and self-reflective, but easily accessible and relatable for all to connect with; she doesn't shy from sharing a laugh, or confessing a cry.

"Party" is out everywhere today including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Heatley celebrates with a full band performance tomorrow night, October 12th at 9pm at NYC's The Bitter End in Manhattan, NYC.
