Yamaha Welcomes David Bilger, Principal Trumpet Of The Philadelphia Orchestra, To Its Artist Roster
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "The team at Yamaha was able to build horns that are a perfect fit for my style of playing," said David Bilger.

Yamaha today announced the addition of David Bilger to the company's trumpet artist roster. Bilger, principal trumpet of The Philadelphia Orchestra since 1995, has been praised by The New York Times for the "easy brilliance" of his technique and by the Washington Post for his "engaging legato touch."

As a soloist, he has appeared with many top orchestras around the United States. His recordings include Bach's Second Brandenburg Concerto with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and a collection of new music for trumpet and synthesizers with composer Meg Bowles.

"I have played a Yamaha piccolo trumpet for years and I also have a wonderful Yamaha flugelhorn, but when I worked with the Yamaha design team to develop new Yamaha Artist Model trumpets, I made a wish list of everything I wanted for my workhorse instruments," said Bilger. "The team at Yamaha was able to build horns that are a perfect fit for my style of playing."

Bilger earned a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois. He is currently on the music faculties of The Curtis Institute of Music and Temple University. He has performed master classes at many prestigious institutions, including The Juilliard School, Indiana University, the Manhattan School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory.
