From Satellite Radio To Xfm, LA's PARADE OF LIGHTS Delivers A "Shock of The New" In Both The US And UK With Their Self-Released Single "We're The Kids"
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Earshot Media) Already charting on the Alt 18 Countdown on SiriusXM's Alt Nation channel in the US, the new single "We're the Kids" by unsigned Los Angeles-based alt-electro band Parade Of Lights gets its UK radio debut today, Monday, August 19 on Xfm. Afternoon DJ Jo Good premiered the song on "Shock of The New" at 2 pm.

Upon self-releasing "We're the Kids" in a Facebook post on June 1, the song quickly gained traction online, garnering more than 20,000 plays on Soundcloud in less than a week and features on more than 25 blogs in the first month.

Through the band's management, the song found its way to the music director of SiriusXM's Alt Nation who added it to the channel's New Music Radar program and--after three weeks of spins—to the official playlist. On August 17, "We're the Kids," reached its highest position to date on the weekly Alt 18 Countdown show at #14, putting it ahead of better known artists The Naked and Famous, Muse, The Mowgli's and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

Xfm's Head of Music Mike Walsh was introduced to the band and the tune through POL's former publisher Jon Pikus who signed principal members Ryan Daly and Anthony Improgo to a deal with Imagem Music in 2011.

"We're the Kids" is the follow up to POL's September 2012 EP "Born to Live, Born to Love" and will be part of the band's forthcoming as yet untitled EP slated for release next month. To date, the song has sold more than 5,000 downloads and been streamed more than 50,000 times on Spotify.

Daly and Improgo formed Parade Of Lights in 2010 and spent 2011 releasing music and playing shows with artists such as Imagine Dragons, Marcy Playground, Light FM, Rooney, Stamps, and Ringside among others. After two original band members left for gigs as touring musicians, Daly and Improgo spent much of 2012 honing their sound and writing songs for their first EP as a duo.

Since solidifying their live four piece line up earlier this year, Parade Of Lights have their sights set on continuing to put out new music and tour for the rest of 2013. Radio airplay on San Francisco's Live 105 FM has lead to several Northern California shows in October and November with artists such as The Limousines, NONONO and Night Terrors of 1927.

About Parade Of Lights:
Parade of Lights are an alt-electro band based in Los Angeles. Comprised of Ryan Daly, Anthony Improgo, and Mariana Machain, the group combines equal parts rock, new wave, and shoegaze to create a unique blend of 80's influenced pop drawing on inspiration from artists like U2, Depeche Mode, M83, and even Madonna.

Shortly after meeting in LA in 2006, they formed the band Polus. After releasing a four-song EP entitled "Wish" and garnering a significant buzz locally, Polus was put on hiatus due to considerable demand for both Daly and Improgo as touring musicians. Even with their rigorous touring schedules, the two managed to keep their friendship intact and exchanged song ideas via email until 2010 when they decided to officially reunite as Parade of Lights. They spent that year and 2011 releasing new music and playing shows in Southern California, Utah and Nevada, opening for artists like Imagine Dragons, The Neighbourhood, Shiny Toy Guns, Light FM, Rooney, Stamps, and Ringside among others.

Recent music film and TV placements have gained the band considerable attention from music and TV insiders, not to mention a legitimate core group of dedicated fans. The exposure along with POL's hook-laden songs and entertaining live show, led to a publishing deal December 2011 with Imagem Music.

The band's latest effort, an EP entitled "Born To Live, Born To Love", was released in the fall of 2012.
