New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This summer, Matt Holubowski will take his starkly expressive and ornately rendered folk on the road for some of his biggest live engagements to date. Today, he announces a series of East Coast US dates for September, but that's only a piece of his exciting summer: He's also got scheduled performances at Bonnaroo, Robert Smith's Meltdown Festival, Osheaga, and a European tour with Ben Folds.

Matt's unmistakable voice and understated poetry have earned him a steadfast following in his home country of Canada, with his second album 'Solitudes' debuting at #3 on the Billboard Canadian Albums Chart. These songs are lived-in worlds that Matt and his band navigate with deftness and aplomb. His ruminations on isolation, estrangement and exile are colored by a singing voice that's capable of both beautifully pained falsetto and playful phrasing, while his bandmates tug at the seams of these orchestrations, finding new beauty in unexpected inflections and blooming atmospheres.

On the road, Matt Holubowski is joined by his invaluable musical collaborators: Stephane Bergeron (Karkwa) on drums, Marc-Andre Landry (Chloe Lacasse) on bass, Simon Angell (Patrick Watson) on guitar, and Marianne Houle (Klo Pelgag) on cello. Keep an eye out for more new music from Matt Holubowski later this summer.
