New York, NY (Top40 Charts) A Bad Think have just released their new video for the song "The Animal". "The Animal" is the first video from the band's 7th album The Tragic End Of A Dreamer due out December 16th via Windmark Records.
Michael Marquart, the lead singer, songwriter and sole member of A Bad Think explains the concept of the video "The story on the video refers to "the animal" that is with in us all. The animal can be good or bad, compassionate or hateful, jealous or brave. depending on how we react to different situations that happen in our lives. Acknowledging that we all have that animal inside us all is the most important thing to understand.
Creating is an essential part of life for Marquart who spends several hours each day working on music and ideas in his studio. The most important thing when it comes to writing and recording music in Marquart's opinion is that it is an honest representation of his distinct style because, "if I'm not true to my music, then what's the whole point of it?"
In addition to writing and producing on all other A Bad Think releases, Marquart has played most or all of the instrumental and vocal parts. However, with The Tragic End Of A Dreamer, the talents of many well-known studio musicians can be heard along with Marquart. Instrumentalists such as bass player Paul Bryan (Aimee Mann, Lucinda Williams) and pedal steel guitar player Greg Leisz (Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow) lend their skills to the album. Composer John Philip Shenale (Tori Amos, Billy Idol) and singer Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd, Blue Pearl) among many others also appear on the record. "I'm so fortunate to have a great list of people working on this guy" says Marquart, "and they are the best of the best studio musicians." Collaborating with other musicians is an illuminating experience according to Marquart because they look at his songs from new and different perspectives.
