Acclaimed Violinist Judy Kang, Of Lady Gaga's Monster Ball, In "Zingara"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roc-elle Records) A prodigy at age 4, with more than a decade of experience playing worldwide from NYC's Carnegie Hall to Wigmore Hall in London and Suntory Hall in Japan, Canadian violinist Judy Kang had already achieved Fame in the Classical world (not to mention a Master's from Juilliard at age 19), when she embarked on tour with the Fame Monster herself, the 21st century's biggest pop star, Lady Gaga, in 2010. For a year and a half straight Kang traveled the world as part of Gaga's Monster Ball. This infusion of the pop experience has added breadth and new cadences to Kang's musical expression, opening doors to explore the fusion of new genres and connections. Since returning she has occupied herself on another high profile tour, with Japan's classical icon Ryuichi Sakamoto, with whom she will return to Europe again this November.

While Kang's love and dedication to classical music endures, over the years she has also explored original songwriting and performing in various genres. She will finally unveil her first album of originals, self-titled, in the coming months. Judy Kang is a classical-electronic-ambient-pop amalgamation, mixed by Abe Seiferth of Turing Machine and DFA's Plantain Studios, that draws attention to Kang's producing skills and vocals in addition to her established virtuosity as a violinist.

The first single off Judy Kang is soon to be announced; in the meantime, Kang has collaborated with her Monster Ball cohort, drummer George "Spanky" McCurdy, and NYC singer-songwriter Antoniette Costa on Costa's song ZINGARA,which Kang co-wrote, produced and arranged, also mixed by Seiferth. Kang recognized thematic lines for violin in the gypsy and lyrical style of "Zingara," in what culminated as a symphonic instrumentation performed on violin (the 1689 Baumgarter Stradivarius, on loan to Kang from the Canada Council) with percussive beats by McCurdy. The visually engrossing video tallied over 65,000 views in its first 48 hours live.
