New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Adele has revealed that Kate Bush's return to the public eye last year encouraged her to release her new music.
Kate Bush gave her first live performances in over 35 years back in August 2014 at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
Adele attended one of Bush's 'Before The Dawn' shows and was inspired by the role Kate's son played in helping her return to the stage.
In an interview with the New York Times,
Adele said: "I read somewhere, and I don't know if it's true or not, that [Bush's son] said when he was 16, 'I want to know now why everyone loves you.' And it makes me so emotional. After that show, it was: 'I don't want to wait. I don't want to wait till my kid is 16, I want to show him now.'"
Adele discussed why she rarely performs live elsewhere in the Times interview: "Performing to that many people for every night, for that long, I find something very lonely about it. Which sounds weird, because you're performing for like, 20,000 people every night, but you leave on your own. You don't go home and, like, share a bed with 20,000 people and have a little pyjama party and watch movies.
Obviously I'm going to have my friends with me and I'm going to have my family with me, but the thought of how lonely that could be frightens me more than the load of doing a worldwide tour."
