New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Amythyst Kiah shares her new album Wary + Strange, available everywhere via Rounder Records. Interlacing her Black identity, confessional alt-rock, and the elemental sounds of traditional roots music, the eleven track collection - all written or co-written by the artist - is a culmination of her relentless journey of personal and musical exploration. Throughout, the most striking moments are those of visceral, unflinching self-actualization, as Amythyst brings her once-hidden emotions of grief, anger, and abandonment to the forefront in this raw and nuanced redefining of roots music.

In a The New York Times profile which ran earlier this week, Amythyst expands on her uncompromising vision for her sound and the one day in the studio where two sounds collided with the help of producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, Molly Tuttle, Andrew Bird).

Wary + Strange is already receiving breakout critical praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Ebony, PEOPLE and MTV and many more. She's one of PEOPLE Magazine's Black Musical Artists You Need To Watch in 2021, and more recently, joined Jason Isbell as the most-nominated artist at this year's Americana Music Awards, earning three nominations.
