Anna Foye Releases "Rattlesnake"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) British artist Anna Foye crafts genre-defying, poignant songs for anyone looking to be seen and her latest release - the vulnerable track "Rattlesnake" - is perfect proof of that.

The introspective track from the South Coast singer-songwriter is filled with the traits Anna Foye is quickly becoming known for: emotive melodies blending with captivating and unforgettable lyrics. "Rattlesnake was written as my rebellion song," Foye states. "After a lot of confusion about my identity and resentment towards anyone around me who seemed at peace with themselves, I came across a piece of information about rattlesnakes that said 'rattlesnake skin has a set of overlapping scales, providing protection from threats including physical trauma' and I thought, 'fine, if snakes can protect themselves from the world then so can I."

As a true songwriter, the track was written by Foye with just a mere piano and vocals. It took jumping into the studio for Foye to realize that the song needed, and deserved, a larger arrangement. "We came to it with a very experimental approach using fairly unorthodox instrumentation; one of the key percussion parts is us hitting his kitchen table. I love how chaotic the process was, it reflects the message of the song in such a fun way. We built up the track and then added the backing vocals which are always my favourite part because they seem to blend everything together and fill the empty space."

Anna Foye is an emerging pop artist from the South coast who's divergent writing and distinctive lyricism sit at the core of her music, allowing her audience to get to know the independent 20 year-old behind it. With previous releases such as 'Bend' and 'Early April Rainfall' establishing her artistic edge, her upcoming music is set to follow in their footsteps with yet more guts and energy. Following multiple features on BBC Introducing, Anna is fast on the rise and is one to watch in today's music scene.
