Arkells surprised fans at "Bar + Karaoke" an aptly titled bar for
Arkells karaoke style tunes. Group sing-a-long highlights included current single, Relentless and brand-new album track Only For A Moment - the tune that lyrically inspired the pop-up with the chorus "At karaoke we were trading each verse...".
The band teased that they would be making an appearance at a karaoke bar in Toronto on social media, revealing the location moments before fans arrived en-masse. Fans piled in to attend the impromptu appearance and in true
Arkells form, the band moved from room-to-room, sharing the mic and singing along to classic favourites and new songs from their forthcoming release "Rally Cry," due October 19th. To close out the evening, they treated over a hundred fans crammed into the lobby, to a raucous acoustic performance of new favourites. Watch a clip from the party here:

The surprise pop-up performance was inspired by one of the band's favourite memories from their 2018 trip to South Korea. Frontman Max Kerman recounts, "stumbling into regular multi mic group karaoke - a local staple - was a nightly tradition. Group karaoke is clearly 10X the fun; especially when losing our voices with our Team Canada hosts in Peyongchang. We wanted to replicate and share that energy and fun with Arkellians at home. Felt like the perfect fit to debut the latest cut from Rally Cry."
Only For A Moment is the third track to be revealed off their highly anticipated new studio album Rally Cry. Fans can pre-order Rally Cry, which is produced by Eric Ratz (Knocking At The Door, Leather Jacket), mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Arcade Fire, Kacy Musgraves). In addition to "Only For A Moment," both the lead single, "
Relentless" and the politically charged "People's Champ" will be available as instant-grat tracks, from the 10-song studio album.
