While being a platinum seller is an amazing achievement, today's music stars all have one thing in common: every one started out as a "newbie" artist. AVATAR is proud to be a major supporter of emerging talent, championing tomorrow's chart toppers - which is one reason why the studio partnered with top online publication The Deli Magazine to offer three new NYC-based bands the chance of a lifetime.
The contest, created by The Deli's Editor-In-Chief
Paolo DeGregorio, chose the "Year End Poll For Emerging Artists" winners from the myriad of entries, to best represent the most promising "Next Big Groups" and give them a leg-up with a cache of prizes. For the "Best of NYC 2012," the top three bands were awarded ten hours of free recording time in one of AVATAR's magnificent studios.
The winning bands are Foxygen,
Spirit Family Reunion, and Ambassadors. Says AVATAR President Kirk Imamura: "The future of music lies with today's talented young musicians and we're looking forward to welcoming these three groups.
