New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Blues artist Ray Cashman has a new album out and it's making its way to radio stations world wide. Ray is an interesting person as the man fits into the American roots scene perfectly. His original compilations are a Texas gulf coast musical gumbo of sorts. His amplified sound is solid, reminiscent of a Muddy Waters presentation and his lyrics extremely expressive. Two things you can tell about the man right out of the gate is that his heart is in his music and he's passionate about sharing the American roots sound with folks all around the world. After all that's how he found it, that's how his love affair with the blues began so many years ago - it was shared with him. Today, Ray passes it along both in the states and at his off shore performances across Europe.

Ray's newest release "Houston Electric" is probably his best to date. For example on track ten "Reefer Headed Woman" Ray presents traditional blues at its best - slow, deliberate but most of all with a sound that catches your ear and lyrics that entertain. Ray's voice paints a picture of mild frustration with his fictional reefer headed woman and yet relays his happiness with her as she likes to make love in the afternoon after she fills the room with smoke. On track eight "Full Moon Over Orlean" this cut hits home as the guitar delivers an amplified cadence that lends itself to the lyrical narrative of permanent separation. Very compelling musical delivery. Ray's "Houston Electric" presents eleven original tracks and not a clunker among them. The man is time tested in both Austin and Nashville and now today he lives in Montgomery Texas way back deep in the woods.

Band members:
Ray Cashman: vocals, guitar
Patrick Neifert: guitar and bass
Manuel Perez: drums and percussion
Gary Belin: backing vocals
Anderson Braun: piano on Full Moon Over Orlean
All songs written by Ray Cashman on Wood Shaving Music ASCAP
Produced by Gary Belin, Ray Cashman, mixed and mastered by Gary Belin
