Castlecomer Announce New Single "Escapism" And Double A-Side 7" Vinyl Release
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Castlecomer are excited to finally reveal a very special "double video" release in celebration of their pending double A-side 7" featuring singles "Fire Alarm" and "Escapism" (available for purchase December 19 via the band's website). Filmed on the same day in their home town of Sydney, and featuring a guest dance performance, the videos embrace the duality of the double A-side / double video release to create a feeling of dark and light, and explore the themes of the songs individually as well as collaboratively.

Lead singer Bede Kennedy, on the creative process and inspiration of the clips:

"We wanted 'Fire Alarm' to represent the darkness of the song. We wrote this song at a particularly difficult time when the band was at their lowest, and 'Fire Alarm' became the track that represented a turning point of who we wanted to be. We wanted the clip to represent this with Hunter's intense dancing combined with red background to make the viewer feel on edge."

"With the clip for 'Escapism' things start to take a positive turn. The bright back-light shining through the band while we play represents escaping from the stresses of life. I wrote 'Escapism' while working in a boarding house for men with schizophrenia, and the track is a reflection on the human necessity to find ways to escape every-day life. And for us that's through music."

"Best song I've heard from Castlecomer. It's a tight, lean, infectiously upbeat song." - Dom Alessio, Triple J
"a thumping piece of indie rock'n'roll, with driving drums and scuzzy guitars making it...damn catchy" - Pilerats
"This is a Castlecomer who are a little more comfortable in their skin" - Happy
"Bede has really found his voice on this song" - Richard Kingsmill, Triple J
