Cherrytree Records/Interscope Records Signs Coeur De Pirate (Heart Of A Pirate); Beatrice Martin Label To Release Debut Album 'Roses,' On August 28, 2015
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) Cherrytree Records/Interscope Records are pleased to announce that they have signed Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist Béatrice Martin, known by her stage name Coeur de Pirate (Heart of a Pirate), to the roster. Cherrytree will release Coeur de Pirate's debut album, Roses, on August 28th. The album will be available for pre-order beginning August 21st via all participating digital retailers. The first track to be released, "Carry On," is currently No. 1 for a fourth week at Canadian radio.

"It feels wonderful to have Cherrytree Records/Interscope Records join the team," Béatrice posted today on her Facebook page. "When I first started listening to music seriously, my musical heroes were all on Cherrytree. I'm sure I'll feel right at home. Huge thanks to Martin Kierszenbaum for believing in me. I can't wait to discover what's in store as I embark on this new adventure."

Hailing from Montreal, Béatrice has been playing piano and expressing herself through music since the age of three. After spending several years singing and playing keyboards in Montreal indie bands, Béatrice decided to go solo and released her self-titled debut album in September 2008 to national and international acclaim. Her popularity on YouTube and MySpace helped her garner millions of new fans. Coeur de Pirate has now sold more than one million albums worldwide and counting. Béatrice toured the album extensively throughout Europe and North America, while building an impressive list of collaborations (Jay Malinowski, Kardinal Offishal, David Usher) and racking up Canadian awards. She returned in November 2011 with her sophomore album, Blonde, which she co-produced with Montrealer Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Dears). Blonde found widespread success, leading to more sold-out tours across Europe, Canada, and the U.S., selling over 200,000 copies worldwide while Coeur de pirate reached Diamond certification in France.

Now she is back with Roses, a collection of songs dating back to 2012 that were written mostly in Montreal. Where Blonde was inspired by '60s yéyé, Francoise Hardy, and Brigitte Bardot, Roses finds Béatrice boldly expanding her horizons and modernizing her approach. Recorded in Stockholm with producer Bjorn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John, Robyn, Lykke Li), "Carry On" signals the end of an era and ushers in another, where she reflects deeply on her life up to this point.

Coeur de Pirate will tour the U.S. in September and October. All tour dates are below:
September 21st, Neumos, Seattle, WA
September 22nd, Doug Fir Lounge, Portland, OR
September 24th, Bimbo's 365, San Francisco CA
September 26th, The Troubadour, Los Angeles, CA
October 21st, Brighton Music Hall, Allston, MA
October 22nd, Music Hall Of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY
October 25th, Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, Washington, DC
