Chuck Prophet Reveals Gritty, Jangly Title Track From Upcoming LP 'Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Chuck Prophet has unveiled "Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins," the title track from his upcoming LP out February 10th on Yep Roc. The gritty and jangly song pays homage to the legendary "I Fought The Law" singer. The story of Bobby Fuller, who died mysteriously in 1960s Los Angeles, sits at the crossroads of some of the record's main themes: death, celebrity and the disillusion of a California dream. Tales of doomed love, loneliness and fast-paced violence add to a musical narrative that Prophet describes as "California noir."

The title track is the second song to be released off the new record, following "Bad Year For Rock and Roll," a lament for the fallen greats of 2016. "The Thin White Duke took a final bow / there's one more star in the heavens now" Prophet croons on "Bad Year."

In a feature, Salon proclaimed "'Bad Year for Rock and Roll' deserves to become 2016's grim anthem," comparing the record sonically to Chuck's California forebearers like The Byrds, Love and The Beach Boys: https://www.salon.com/2016/11/27/remembering-bowie-new-chuck-prophet-video-chronicles-what-weve-lost/

Prophet has also announced a U.S. tour with his band The Mission Express for March and April 2017, following a European tour in February. Dates for the Midwest and East Coast are below, with the rest of the country to follow.
