Culture Wars Premieres "Money (Gimmie Gimmie)" Video; Debut Self-Titled EP Out June 9th
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Austin, TX based band Culture Wars just announced their debut self-titled EP, out June 9th. Popmatters premiered the video for the first single "Money (Gimmie, Gimmie)," saying "Austin's Culture Wars come blazing out of the gate with an addictive electrorock sound and swagger." Watch the video via Top40-Charts.com:

The five-song debut EP's standout tracks "Feel It In My Bones," "Lies," and "Money (Gimmie, Gimmie)" showcase the band's audacious attitude and forward-thinking sonic sensibility. Culture Wars features Alex Dugan on vocals and electronics, Mic Vrendenburgh on guitar and electronics along with David Grayson on drums. With production by Robert Sewell and mixing by Alan Moulder (The Killers, Nine Inch Nails) and Manny Marroquin (Kanye West, Imagine Dragons), the EP soundly merges edgy, infectious songcraft with inventive electronic textures, punchy guitar work, insistent melodic hooks and the commanding vocals of charismatic frontman Alex Dugan.

"Mic and I were into similar stuff, so we started writing together," Dugan recalls. "We initially went in just to mess around and make weird noises, but we ended up writing a bunch of actual songs together. We liked what we were writing, and loved the way David played drums, so we decided to form a new thing around this music that resonated with us."

The band worked closely with producer Sewell and his Hustle House team creating the songs and sounds at their Austin home on laptops. The band and Sewell then completed the recordings in the unique atmosphere of Sonic Ranch Studios secluded in the desert of far west Texas, where Mic is from.
With more recording planned and a national tour in the works, the band is eager for the June release of their EP.
