David Lane Releases New EP "Hello Georgia", Produced By Chart-Topping Songwriter Roger Murrah
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The pride of Darien, Georgia, country rocker David Lane is set to release his sophomore EP Hello Georgia October 30 on MuSick Recordings. Lane co-wrote all six songs on the EP, including five with Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Roger Murrah, who also produced the project. The two began working together in the fall of 2013 as co-writers, a relationship that quickly evolved into Murrah signing on to produce the entire EP, stating, "David is a pleasure to work with, which has made the process a no-brainer for me."

Hello Georgia has already met with critical approval, with spins from BBC Radio and an invitation to perform at the NAMM convention in Los Angeles in 2016.

Hello Georgia kicks off with "Recession," a hard hitting mid-tempo song about the working man's struggle, properly preparing the listener for an EP that's a lot more grounded in the average American's hardships than in red solo cups and pickup trucks. Lane pays homage to his birthplace on the title track "Hello Georgia" showcasing his realization that his heart lives in his home state.

He sings:
"Running down life's highways from this emptiness in me
and I can't believe how fast these years have flown
All those many miles have ever taught me is
I'm right where I should be
Hello Georgia, it's good to be back home."

The up-tempo "Blackberry Wine," with its hooky refrain and where Lane shines vocally, cements his own unique blend of country-rock, somewhere between Gary Stewart and George Strait. The new single is "San Francisco and You" ─ a haunting minor chord ballad about love lost in the City By The Bay, where Lane and Murrah's melodic and lyrical prowess shines brightly. The song's beautifully-shot video was filmed in San Francisco and directed by up-and-coming Seattle video director Erik Foster:

Lane has rooted himself as a part Nashville's thriving musical community, aside from his work with Murrah, he has also written with hit songwriters Liz Rose, Tom Botkin, Jon Henderson, and Bobby Hamilton. In 2014 he performed at Tin Pan South, one of the world's leading songwriting festivals.
Hello Georgia is a striking effort from Lane, sure to leave the listener eager for more. Murrah adds, "David Lane's music begins in his heart and ends in the hearts of those who hear him."
