NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Manhattan Records) - "Siren," the debut CD from pop classical-crossover duo Sasha Lazard and Shawna Stone, is scheduled for release on EMI Manhattan Records March 6th. In conjunction with the release, Sasha & Shawna are featured in a PBS Special, entitled "Heavenly Voices," which begins airing nationwide March 1st.

Produced by Grammy Award-winning legend, Peter Asher, with two tracks overseen by Frank Fitzpatrick, the twelve-song collection is the work of two immensely talented singers with no vocal limits who have found a fresh and original approach to interpreting popular songs ranging from Radiohead's "Fade Out" and James Taylor's "You Can Close Your Eyes" to Sting's "Fields of Gold" and "Dust in the Wind," by Kansas. Recorded mostly in the U.K. with the London Symphony Orchestra, "Siren" also includes pieces from the traditional operatic canon, such as Donizetti's "Una Furtiva Lagrima," and "Stabat Mater IXXI" by 18th century Italian composer Pergolesi.

NMW Online said, "Siren ... makes a sort of sense as gorgeous as the haunting and affecting recording itself." And, The Columbus Post Dispatch noted: "Who would have thought the reinvention of pop singing would come from classically trained singers? Now under the tutelage of Grammy-winning producer Peter Asher ... the duo seems to be aiming at an audience unclaimed in crossover ... "

In support of the launch of "Siren", PBS stations will begin airing "Heavenly Voices" nationwide on March 1st. Filmed on November 7th, 2006 at the historic Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center in Miami, Florida, the special is a new HD-TV live concert event, which will also include performances by EMI Manhattan labelmates Ryland Angel and Giorgia Fumanti. https://www.sashaandshawna.com
