UK label Sonic Heavy formed last year with a view to releasing music full of emotional content from a talented set of passionate artists, without being limited by genre. Following on from founder Matt Jarrett's 'The Reason' comes a 7 track ep featuring the vocal talents of UK singer songwriter Rachel Chontelle.

London based Rachel Chontelle is Inspired by the legendary vocalists including; Chaka Khan and Etta James who she counts as a major influence.
Though Rachel has an energy that is uniquely now. Growing up in a talented family of musicians and fellow singers she exhibits a distinctive earthy tone and amazing range with the uncanny ability to produce a deep soulful tone and is gifted with a wonderful rich operatic voice also. With diverse musical tastes, everything through Hip Hop, Drum n Bass and House adding to her current work with more experimental future soul creations. Past highlights include performances with Leroy Bruges and sessions with Run DMC and as an active member of a Gospel Choir.

Rachel's first collaboration with producer Matt Jarrett was the bass heavy electro soul track 'Go Deep' which featured on last years 'The Reason ep'.

Expect her debut as a solo artist October 30th.
