Electronic Music's Rising Stars Break Out On "We Are Your Friends" Soundtrack Album
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) Experience the soundtrack to a new generation, the next generation with We Are Your Friends: Music From The Original Motion Picture (Interscope Records). Bringing together the most acclaimed of electronic music's freshest artists/producers from around the globe, from France's Justice and Tchami to Australia's Will Sparks, Dom Dolla, and Hayden James; from Belgium's critically acclaimed DJ and curator The Magician to the U.K.'s Years & Years and AlunaGeorge, to Sweden's Klingande and Seinabo Sey; to U.S.'s Gryffin, Deorro, Carnage, Bro Safari, and The Americanos, We Are Your Friends taps into today and tomorrow for a sensational soundtrack album. We Are Your Friends opens in theaters across the country on August 28th.

The first single, "Desire" (Gryffin Remix) from U.K. Electronic/Pop trio Years & Years, released on Friday, July 31st. The album will be released in both standard (12 tracks) and deluxe (18 tracks) editions - each in clean and explicit versions - on August 21st.

"We Are Your Friends is a contemporary coming-of-age movie set against the music of today's world--dance, electronic, festival anthems, pop, trap, hip-hop, and, some EDM as well. We all worked hard to choose tracks that were not only best for the story but also contributed to a balanced mix of the many different genres that fit under the wide umbrella of dance/electronic music. The art of DJing is mixing disparate songs together seamlessly to create an emotional journey that you can dance to and I believe we've done that!," says the film's director Max Joseph.

The artists on We Are Your Friends: Music From The Original Motion Picture represent the best and the brightest of dance music's future. Years & Years' recent full-length debut album Communion has spun off the No. 1 U.K. hit single "King," that also reached the U.S. Top 40. The song has been remixed by Darkroom artist Gryffin who is on fire; his remixes have amassed over 50 million streams online. Carnage joins Atlanta chillwave-rap cause celebre iLoveMakonnen for the catchy "I Like Tuh." Scenic offers a blissed-out "Another Sky" in a floor-friendly remix by The Magician. Germany's Oliver $ collaborates with Swiss DJ Jimi Jules for the Top 20 U.K. "Pushing On." DJ Felli Fel teams with fellow DJs Lex Larson and Louie Rubio to form The Americanos for their debut track, "BlackOut." The duo AlunaGeorge has become one of the U.K.'s most hailed new artists. In 2014, Will Sparks was named Australia's No. 1 DJ; MTV Australia labeled Dom Dolla's recent remix of another Go Freeks track one of their Top 10 Mind Blowing Remixes; soul-pop singer Seinabo Sey scored Swedish newcomer of the year awards; and Hook N Sling topped the Beatport charts. The only vintage selection is the title track, "We Are Your Friends," Justice's 2006 remix of "Never Be Alone" by Simian, which NME honored in 2011 in the Top 20 of its "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years" list.
