Malmo, SWEDEN (Top40 Charts) Swedish indie pop group, Emerald Park, offer a free stream of their GO! GO! GO! EP on Smaragd Records for their June 23 release. The newly-acquired electro aesthetic that is featured in Emerald Park's latest brings a freedom that roams the genre line, but always holds the same pop bastion that you can count on from the group.
Emerald Park have taken on a somewhat more divergent musical persona of creative expression on GO! GO! GO! . On the release the band joined forces with two different studio producers: Ola Frick of Moonbabies and Carl Granberg (Robyn, Danko Jones) to produce a sound filled with a collection of Moogs, electric guitars, and various synthesizers to go along with lyrics that strive for a more instinctive and meditative tone than on previous outings.
Praise:
"Full of bright, catchy songs and refreshingly free of artifice. The album doesn't come with a built-in gimmick or a breathless press release proclaiming the band's indie credibility. Instead, the band simply delivers 45-plus minutes of well-written, likable songs. - Chris Conation, PopMatters.com
"'Wolf' is a track for those nights when you just can't sleep. Sonically, it's a perfect example of the play between indie alt-pop/rock and their new love for electro pop. While the verses are dominated by a melodic bass line, the chorus blooms with synths and keys that flutter and dance. The whole track is coated with atmospherics that gently caress a distorted guitar trying so hard to break free. - Culture Collide
"Emerald Park fuses playful, autotuned electronic music with straightup alternative rock flourishes for a pretty bracing mashup." - KDHX
"Just in time for summer, this tune is filled with bright feel-good vibes... The overall feel of the song is at once nostalgic and optimistic... - Nathan Barrett - Pure M Magazine
"They craft a flexible sense of pop melancholy from their influences and are able to draw out a small sliver of hope from the resulting shadows. - Dave Luttrull - Hellhound Music
