"Empowered And Talented Emerging Vocalist" (Ones To Watch) Emma Gatsby Releases "Alone"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pop singer, songwriter and stunner Emma Gatsby is taking 2020 by storm with the release of her new track, "Alone." Featuring an electronic soundscape and a heady beat, the track showcases an individualist spirit and peeks behind the curtain of one of the scenes newest voices as she stakes her claim as an exciting up-and-comer. Emma's powerful and fine-tuned voice floats over reverberated synths and a kick drum. "I'm in my own head / but at least I got company" she croons over the song she co-produced while sonically exploring personal independence.

"I actually wrote this song years ago," Emma says about the song. "I was in the studio suffering from major writer's block. In the last hour of that long session, my friend August started playing the beat and I immediately felt something. The first thing that caught my attention was the drums - I had him mute everything else and we built the rest of the instrumental around that. It's a good sign if the instrumental takes me somewhere cause then the song writes itself. With "Alone," it was so honest, it was almost like I was just writing a journal entry instead of lyrics. The feeling came first and then the words came from there. Anything that feels forced is going to sound forced so I try not to do anything that feels like trying."

The 23-year-old LA-based singer-songwriter is gearing up to release her new project this year after 2016's sprinkle of tracks: "2 Steps" and "Young." Ones To Watch says Emma exudes a "cool simple vibe, while her voice soars above the listener," but "Alone" really marks Emma Gatsby's resurgence after taking a hiatus and developing her craft behind the scenes. Channel Tres, AUGUST 08, and Tim Suby are also involved in her upcoming music.

Emma is a New York native, who grew up on the Long Island estate that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel 'The Great Gatsby." She was raised in a music-dominated household and lost her parents at a very young age, where she bounced from families to boarding schools, eventually emancipating herself and taking her life into her own hands at 16-years-old. Before she passed, Emma's mother taught her to play the cello and Emma has been playing at a professional level since she was a child but has since shifted to singing where her powerful voice shines. Nylon says she makes "purposeful pop that strays away from the formulaic," while Ones To Watch praises her "self-aware, genuine and confident attitude."
