New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Stevie B Wolf announces the release of his alternative pop EP Alone + Alive due out Nov. 6. A rocker with a poetic soul, Stevie B Wolf's EP teems with vibrant vocals, soulful melodies, and captivating percussion, the EP delivers four evocative portraits of a broken heart and moving on.
At a young age, Wolf was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome, ADD, and depression. Rather than seeing his mental health as a weakness, Wolf overcomes this adversity to his musical advantage. "Tourette's can manifest in many ways, like physical twitching or saying the same word over and over. A lot of my tics were tunes or phrases that popped into my head that I repeated compulsively. Maybe that has helped me develop a unique vocal and lyrical style." He continues, "But it's mostly that the presence of mental illness has always been a huge drive behind my music." Wolf always felt like an outcast - like there was a barrier between other people and him; music was the way he could reach across that barrier and connect with people in a 100% real way. The Alone + Alive EP provides listeners with a sense of catharsis and musical connection as Stevie B Wolf confronts a more common challenge - that of lost love.
The first single off Alone + Alive, "Nothing But A Name," offers a combination of soothing neo-80s pop rhythms, and haunting lyrics. Wolf cries out with raw intensity, "Now we're only strangers/
Who gave each other scars" Wolf states, "I just wanted to capture what I was feeling, especially the circus of emotions inside me - resentment and bitterness directed outward along with shame and regret and realization that I might've been responsible for driving them away."
