CHEROKEE
COUNTY, SC (FLF) - Fire Lake Festival will be held on Sunny Slopes
Farms off exit 87 on I-85. In recent years, the farmland has been the
site for the renowned South Carolina Peach Festival. Boasting 375 acres
of idyllic rolling hills, woodlands, lakes and beautiful mountain
vistas, the festival's four stages will accommodate the live
performances of 35-40 of popular artists and bands. The name Fire Lake
is derived from the three acre lake on the property. During the
festival a multi-tiered fountain will be a festive centerpiece in the
lake and will be lit to create an illusion of fire. The House
of Blues, the second largest media company in the U.S., has been
contracted by Fire Lake Festival, Inc. to book the talent for the
festival. "Our youthful audience loves a variety of music. We will have
a diverse range of music genres including Rock, Country, Bluegrass,
Funk, Rhythm and Blues, and Jazz. Many people use the all-encompassing
word Jambands to describe the music we will be presenting; we here at
Fire Lake prefer to use the term soulcentric", says Fire Lake Festival
Coordinator, Holly Sloan. Fire Lake Festival is planning to sell
over 50,000 camping passes and more than 10,000 non-camping day passes.
A vendor village for food, beverages, apparel, music, arts & crafts
will be onsite. Fire Lake Festival estimates that the music
festival will bring over one million dollars of sales tax revenue to
the state of South Carolina. Fire Lake Festival will support the local
charities serving the county. Additionally, Fire Lake Festival will
give two dollars of every ticket sold to Cherokee County, estimated at
over $160,000.
