Fourth Annual Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival Announces Schedule For July 8, 2017
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World has announced its full schedule for its fourth annual festival at the historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, the borough where Armstrong famously resided for more than twenty years.

On July 8th, this daylong event including live performance and various family-friendly activates celebrate the life and legacy of the jazz great and local hero. The festival is all ages and will take place from 1PM to 8PM.

The Main stage will feature an eclectic mix of influential musicians, from members of the Dap-Kings to freestyle rappers from New York, New Orleans and Boston, embracing the inclusive, bridge-building spirit of the man who believed that what we play is life. All the sets promise to be adventurous and improvisational, a cross-community celebration embodying Armstrong's notion that you should "never play anything the same way twice."

The Mainstage:
· 2PM - Drum circle
· 3PM - Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks (with Jon Batiste sitting in)
· 4:30PM - Members of The Dap-Kings with Stay Human featuring: Don Flamingo, Avenue, and Kris Kasanova

· 6PM - Jon Batiste and Stay Human (with the Havana Roots Collective, a new project led by Grammy winning producer Andrés Levin from Yerba Buena and featuring Cuban musicians Cucu Diamantes, Alain Perez, Kelvis Ochoa.)

Along with the music, attendants can enjoy the various Backyard Bash activities happening around the park from 1PM to 5PM. This year also marks the first year of the NYU Music Experience Design Lab, in which attendees can make music through playful apps and technologies, https://musedlab.org/

There will be food vendors stationed around the park, including Yankee Doodle Dandy's, Gorilla Cheese, Andy's Italian Ices, Coney Shack and Jiannetto's Pizza, El Rey del Taco.

Activities include:
NYU's Music Experience Design Lab
Big Apple Circus
Carnival games
Balloon animals
Play along with Queens College Athletics
Bringing the Beat with Talujon Percussion Ensemble
Louis Armstrong House Museum exhibit
Partner Exhibits
Hall of Science
Additionally, from 1PM to 7PM there will be an indoor beer garden and live DJ sets from DJ Cochon de Lait and DJ Pana Li at Pop's Place at Queens Theatre. There will also be discussions on Louis Armstrong's New Orleans' roots with The Louis Armstrong House Museum's Ricky Riccardi at the Cabaret Room at 2PM and 4PM.

The 2017 Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival is produced by the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College. Partners include Queens College/CUNY, the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, the Queens Museum, Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation and the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Major funding is provided by the Kupferberg Family. Additional funding is provided, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Goldenvoice is a sponsor with generous support from the Panorama Music Festival which is providing booking, marketing, and financial support.

"Panorama Music Festival is proud to work with Queens College as we support Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World Festival with financial, marketing, and booking support," says Mark Shulman, Producer of Panorama Festival. "Working with phenomenal partners to bring first class events to City Parks for the entire community to enjoy is what we are all about and LAWW embodies the full potential of how events give back to constituents and the musical legacy of Queens."
