Future-Soul Beats Go Brazilian In The Bay Area
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Brazilian fingerstyle guitar and melodic future-soul jazz, combine with surf rock and a hip-hop backbone beat as Getaway Dogs release the second single, Excuses/Opinions off of their album, Lost In The Ebb, due out August 19. All of these elements are mixed in with a resounding, sweet vocal presence by singer Samantha Stone, completing the atmospheric mixture.

Excuses/Opinions maintains the Bay Area formula that Getaway Dogs builds their sound upon. Drawing chronic inspiration from nature, and drawing influence from bands like Hiatus Kaiyote, the band create a sound that gently wades in and out like the tide on a breezy summer afternoon. The song hides a deeper meaning beneath its sunny exterior. Singer and guitarist Kai Killion explains, It is symbolic of a bigger-picture idea; time is going to keep dragging on, and though we may be caught up in trivial, everyday suffering, I believe all that we know here on the Coast will be underwater within our lifetime.

About Getaway Dogs:
Getaway Dogs is the brainchild of Kai Killion. Prior to this band, Killion made one solo album called Mermaid Legs & Getaway Dogs (2013), where the band name was born. In combination with Samantha Stone, Mikey Whalen, and Kai Kopecky, the group will release their debut album Lost In The Ebb on August 19.
