Gaudi Remixes Johny Dar's Single "Scars"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Italian-born, London-based producer, composer and musician Gaudi has remixed experimental and innovative artist Johny Dar's single, 'Scars' set for release on the 24th of August via Dar The Music. During his decade spanning career through which he has released more than 16 albums, 250 productions and 90 remixes, Gaudi has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including The Orb, Bob Marley, Scissor Sisters, and Simple Minds. His eclectic use of cross-genre production has gained him considerable recognition throughout the world as he brings together fans of electronica, dub and reggae. Gaudi has been featured in major publications the world over including Pop Matters, Clash Music, Louder Sound, Louder Than War to name a few and received airplay from the likes of BBC Music 6's Don Letts.

Artist, designer and musician Johny Dar's previous singles 'Gigi', 'Alien Animal' and 'Be Free' have received support from the likes of Clash Magazine, Paste Magazine, Music Week, Guestlist and 1883 Magazine. This multi-talented artist has collaborated with the some of the biggest names in the music industry; including Jessie J, Florence Welch, Harry Styles, Sir Elton John, Carla Bruni, Bryan Adams, Julio Iglesias, Tom Waits, Dannii Minogue, Marianne Faithfull, Victoria Beckham, Melanie C and Sam Smith.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Johny Dar moved to Los Angeles in 1997 to study fashion, launching his first fashion label in 1999, and has been producing timeless collections ever since. In 2002 he took a hiatus from his thriving career to travel, study different cultures and traditions, and break away from the known. This developed his unique artistic style, which he sees as the fruit of his exploration and culmination of his experience, and which forms the heart of his work in every medium he engages. His passion for originality is evident in every medium he engages, including paintings, couture, illustration, sportswear, music and directing. Dar has presented runway collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, and New York Fashion Week, and 2017 saw him devote his runway shows to the Jeans For Refugees initiative, showcasing hand-painted celebrity-donated denims alongside his couture collection, to international acclaim. Dar, who has been described by Fashion.net as the 'darling of the gliterazzi,' has been featured in publications including Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, Le Monde, Die Zeit, New York Times, Harpers Bazaar, Fault, Hunger, Kaltblut, Aesthetica, Tatler, and Flair among others.

Johny Dar shies away from citing influences, preferring to keep his ears and mind free in order to create entirely original artistic expressions, therefore does not generally seek inspiration from other artists. However, his upcoming album, Dardelica has been described as having similarities to Daft Punk, Moby, Chemical Brothers, Infected Mushroom, KLM and others.

Gaudi's simpler reimagining of Johny Dar's 'Scars' transports the song to new horizons as it sets the tone from the get-go with ambient soundscapes creating the mysterious atmosphere the listener is about to be surrounded with. As the song progresses, the layered production fills the void with the tender, yet vulnerable vocals of Johny Dar while the soft and subtle use of synth glides with ease over the textured ambience. 'Scars' is transformed into an easy-listening 6-minute journey which will find its footing both on stage and in the comforts of your own living room on a Sunday morning. Gaudi proves yet again that simplicity is key to all aspects of life.

Johny Dar is looking forward to his next exhibition at Blacks during the upcoming London Fashion Week - 'Where the Future Starts' - will feature four floors of Dar's artistic creations, and will be launched with an event previewing his debut album Dardelica.

Johny Dar's Upcoming Shows:
