Ghosts Of Our Former Selves Uplifting Anthem For Togetherness

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Like most bands, London three-piece Ghosts Of Our Former Selves have found themselves caught between nostalgia and impatient anticipation for the past year. Nostalgia for the magical shared experience of live music and anticipation for when we will all be able to do this again. Determined that a global pandemic would not hold them back, the band spent most of the UK's lockdown writing and recording new material over Zoom. Their new single 'Sea of People' is leading the way ahead of their second album set for release late this year.

'Sea of People' is poignant in both message and execution. While the lyrics explore the huge impact that the past 12 months has had on musicians and music fans, the big production is striking and instantly defines 'Sea of People' as a song that would sound incredible live. Up tempo in nature the track's huge drum sounds, driving piano riff and iconic synth bass sounds draw influence from late 70s and early 80s song writing and come as a heavy but optimistic reminder of the world we previously took for granted. Optimistic, because when we stand together in a crowd again we'll make sure to enjoy every moment.

Talking about 'Sea of People, lead singer and lyricist Theo Brehony reveals: "I had a huge yearning to share an emotional experience with a crowd of people - that's something we've been deprived of during the pandemic. As a musician I was questioning whether we as a society still value artists during this time. Will the music be there when we come back? How are we going to be interacting together in future?"
Sea of People is the first release from their highly anticipated new album, 'Night Church' which is out this summer.
