Growing up in Singapore, Vidya Sethu was drawn to music early in life, beginning to sing before the age of three. She took vocal lessons and sang in a choir, but the first big step she took towards music was starting a band in high school. Post-graduation, Sethu did not intend to do music professionally; however, when her collegiate pursuits at Yale proved unsatisfying, she left for California. In Los Angeles, she began auditing classes at Musicians
Institute and eventually enrolled, deciding to pursue music full time. In May of 2014, Marc
Thomas posted an online ad expressing interest in starting a band. Through their mutual love for electronic pop, Sethu and
Thomas connected immediately and Heiress to
Atlas was born. Influenced by acts like Sia and Holychild, the pair worked tirelessly and in just six months wrote and produced their upcoming EP, Spark.
