Indie-Folk Singer/songwriter Sam Island Makes His Powerful Debut With 'Light'

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) No stranger to the game, Sam Island has previously worked with rapper, producer and director Mez (Dr. Dre, J. Cole). After years in the industry, Sam now steps into the spotlight with his debut single 'Light' December 10th 2020.

Hailing from North Carolina, singer-songwriter and producer Sam Island has been crafting his unique Indie-Folk sound, taking his cues from Neil Young, J Dilla and Fleet Foxes. Sam writes music that genuinely connects to the listener through the raw vulnerability and passion in every word sings.

Making his debut with 'Light' Sam demonstrates his affinity for creating powerful music. Written during a difficult time in his life, Sam goes on to explain: Written by myself and co-produced by King Garbage (Leon Bridges), I started making this album in my home as my daughter was born. My Father was being incarcerated and the pandemic was peaking in the US. My family had little contact with the world outside of our circle. My daughter was my light in the dark.
