ATLANTA, GA. (Top40 Charts/ Hollywood South Productions) - Atlanta-based international recording artist Tempest will appear in a new reality show, "FAT MARCH," on August 6, 2007, on ABC's upcoming reality show at 9PM following "WIFE SWAP." Tempest, also known as Kim Kearney, on the heels of the reality show "FAT MARCH," will also host a new TV talent competition aimed to rival "American Idol" this fall. The show is called "DIG IT or DIS IT," and is slated to air
September 21, 2007, on the CW in Atlanta, following "South Park."
Tempest has had top 20 hits throughout Europe and Asia, and her single "Booyah!" was No 15 in the charts in Italy, preceded by songstress Mariah Carey, and the same song was No 8 in the charts in Germany, and even topped Madonna in some markets. Since hosting her own talk show on UPN, and now appearing on ABC's new reality show "FAT MARCH," Tempest admits that she intentionally allowed herself to gain so much weight, resulting in her desire to be on the weight-loss reality show, after being disillusioned by the sexism of the entertainment industry. "I really wanted to be taken seriously and respected for my talent alone, like Oprah, Queen Latifah, and other women who I respected in the industry. It seems as long as I could fit in a size 5 to 7 jeans, the men of the industry always had some ulterior motive, never just business, and no matter what I wore or where I'd meet them, or how much I pleaded with them to just stick to business, they wouldn't listen. So I was forced to walk away and sacrifice whatever opportunity they may have offered, because I refused to sleep my way to the top."
Tempest, aka Kim Kearney, despite the sexism in the entertainment industry, has had a string of success in the entertainment industry; a former talk show host, now also a producer and director, Kim produced the "The Flavor Of Love Girls Tour," featuring 7 of the young ladies from VH1's hit, "Flavor of Love." Now, she is set to unveil a clothing line this fall called, "Fatabulous," a new clothing line geared toward plus-size women. "Yes, some of us are 'Fat,' but that doesn't mean we can't be 'Fabulous'; that's why the line is called 'Fatabulous'; I'm living proof," she says.
Tempest is also the CEO of a new TV, music and film production company based in Atlanta: Hollywood South Productions, LLC. The CEO and producer is now gearing up for her new movie, "Afta Party," a horror movie, which goes into production this fall. "Hollywood South Productions," a multimedia conglomerate, was created to be a place where young women can be respected and represented for their talents alone. "No strings attached," Tempest says. A warm and welcoming addition to the city that is slated to be the next Hollywood.
Tempest is also currently writing a tell-all book about those who subjected her to the pain that left her feeling forced to be sexually unappealing by being overweight, hoping they would protect her and make them focus on business since she would then be unattractive to them.
