Jana Mashonee Performs 'A Change Is Gonna Come' at Inaugural Ball

New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Jana Mashonee Official Website) - Grammy Nominated Jana Mashonee, 7-time Native American Music Award Winner, singer-songwriter, and actress releases new song, "A Change Is Gonna Come."

Jana Mashonee is a 7-time Native American Music Award Winner (NAMMYS) including Best Female Artist of the Year, Best Single of the Year, 2-time winner for Best Pop Recording of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Producer for "American Indian Christmas" and Best Music Video.

Her new song, "A Change Is Gonna Come," is a cover of the Sam Cooke soul classic. Jana's take on this powerful song features intense guitar work by 2008 Juno award-winning musician, Derek Miller.

Jana will release a music video for the song to coincide with her performance at the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Ball, where she will sing "A Change Is Gonna Come" live for the first time.

Her upcoming album, 'New Moon Born', will be released January 20, 2009.

This new album is a significant departure from her previous musical endeavors, taking a decidedly more pop, R&B flavor. Tracks such as "Faded Love" and "Carousel" evoke an old soul flavor, while "Angel" and "For Just One Night" are explosive heartfelt ballads.

Jana's powerful voice coupled with the sensibilities of pop, R&B, world and gospel music create an exciting new sound that seduces the ear and overwhelms the senses.

Jana Mashonee is the founder of the non-profit organization "Jana's Kid's" which awards Native students the only educational scholarship in the United States in all three categories; academic, artistic and athletic achievement.
