New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Jason D. Williams, whose "raucous" (Rolling Stone) album 'Killer Instincts' is out now from Rockabilly Records/Red, with a vinyl reissue slated for 1/11/11, has a standing invitation to play with his fellow Memphian the Reverend Al Green at Green's Full Gospel Tabernacle. As it happens, Green inspired the album's blissfully rocking "Sanctified."

Williams has opened for Green before in secular settings, but he says that at Green's church, "If you're not spiritual when you come in, you will be when you leave." Williams and Todd Snider, who produced 'Killer Instincts,' went to Full Gospel one Sunday, and hearing Green preach and sing, often simultaneously, Williams says that "Todd and I were so inspired, we went right back to recapture the spirit of the church in the studio and stayed up all night recording "Sanctified"- we weren't about to let sleep get in the way!"

"Sanctified", with its boisterous piano, organ riffs and gospel-shouted "Help me!" chorus, captures the moment Williams describes as "movement sweeping over you like a sweet spirit - you can't help yourself. The energy's the same in rock 'n' roll as it is in churches."
