New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Universal Music Publishing) The NAACP Image Award nominations were announced yesterday. Jill Scott received a total of four nominations, including recognition for Outstanding Album (The Light of the Sun), Outstanding Song ("So In Love" featuring Anthony Hamilton), Outstanding Female Artist, and Outstanding Music Video. Mary J. Blige received nominations in three categories, including Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video, and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration. Anthony Hamilton also scored three nominations, including Outstanding Album (The Light of the Sun), Outstanding Song ("So In Love"), and Outstanding Male Artist. Brentwood Benson writer Kirk Franklin is up for two awards, including Outstanding Song ("I Smile") and Outstanding Gospel Album (Hello Fear). Chris Brown is up for Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Album for F.A.M.E. Adele is up for Outstanding Music Video and Outstanding Song for "Someone Like You". Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds is up for Outstanding Album for Beyonce's 4 and Outstanding Song for Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had".

Universal Music Publishing Group and Rondor songwriters and artists received all five out of five nominations in the Outstanding Album category; four out of five in the Outstanding Song category; and four out of five in the Outstanding Gospel Album category. The awards will be presented during a live broadcast on NBC scheduled for Friday, February 17th at 8 PM.
