Born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Kate Brown was raised in a musical family that fostered and encouraged her creativity. With an incredible drive and passion to pursue music, Brown dropped out of college and began traveling around the country peddling homemade CDs and playing her music in coffeehouses. She ended up in Chicago, where she enrolled in an intensive course at the School at Steppenwolf. There, she connected with fellow actor and musician, Tony Sancho, who shared her love of music and the arts.
