New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The 11th Annual LA Femme International Film Festival (LAFIFF) announces that CBS Entertainment has come aboard as a key sponsor for the LAFIFF.
Whitney Davis, Manager in Entertainment Diversity, has been instrumental in solidifying this relationship with the festival and CBS. "What CBS is achieving in TV diversity is amazing for women and those of diverse ethnic backgrounds and it has really given emerging writers a shot in the arm that breaking into TV is still a possibility", said Leslie LaPage, Founder / Director of LAFIFF. This year not only will CBS Entertainment Diversity read the winning Pilot TV scripts but they will be sponsoring networking after parties and much more.
LAFIFF launched this year a TV Pilot category in Comedy and Drama due to a growing need from the industry to supply content for TV and the emerging media markets. This need has been spurred by such companies as CBS, NBC, ABC and new media companies with content vision such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. Demand for qualified and talented TV writers is at an all-time high and this is due to these companies and Diversity Divisions such as CBS seeking the next talented writer/showrunner.
LA Femme Extended deadline for submission is August 16, 2015 in categories including: TV Pilot, Screenplays, Features, Shorts, Documentaries and Animation. Filmmakers can submit directly via the website or through some of the submission search engines like Withoutabox.com and Filmfreeway.com.
