New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Long-established, UK-trap behemoth Lancey Foux is back with his widely anticipated mixtape LIVE.EVIL on the back of two-sold out, headline performances last month at Village Underground and EartH.
LIVE.EVIL follows the highly conceptual FIRST DEGREE mixtape released in March, and sees the rapper up the ante, shedding his skin creatively in tandem. "On this project, eighty percent of the time there were a lot of people around. I was letting people into the studio, playing them what I'd made, and asking them: what do you think of this? I have certain people around me for a reason," he shares.

Composed of 13 tracks and launched with the blissful 24KGoldn-assisted 'BIG SWAG', LIVE.EVIL is a bold and relentless mark of liberation, with Lancey Foux wholly embracing the nuances of living in the moment - even amongst the darkness. With staple collaborator Jay Trench alongside him for the majority of the project, LIVE.EVIL is marinated in colossal 808's and menacing, haunting synths, with Foux revelling in confidence on numbers like 'SWEET!' and 'b€Zerk'.

But nested amongst these anthemic numbers are a range of other producers like BNYX and Fluxury, who ground the project, effortlessly emphasising Lancey Foux's extensive palette. The former, "I had to strategise, couldn't stay complacent" he says on 'chANGE' - one of BYNX's creations. The pair's other collaboration 'COLLECTION' is a bold pivot into the Afrobeats space, that yearns for a spring/summer embrace with Lancey Foux smoothly crooning across the chorus. "I'm just trying to vibe. That's how I feel in life, that's my attitude to things," he says of his more experimental tracks across LIVE.EVIL.

Hailing from Plaistow, Lancey Foux has always been a composite of revolutionary, renegade spirit, straddling both fashion and music with the ethos of punk culture. His former projects including Pink, Pink II, and First Day At Nursery have amassed a cult, grass-root following and industry co-signs from Playboi Carti and Skepta - the latter of whom surprised audiences at Foux's EartH headline show. With heavyweight fashion labels Mulberry, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and more also hailing him, the entertainer's polymath status is entrenched in the fibre of his being.

Helping to inspire Kanye West's Donda rollout as of late, Lancey Foux is etched into the peripheries of popular culture on both sides of the Atlantic, and on LIVE.EVIL, the Lil Yachty and 24KGoldn additions are an effortless display of the East Londoner's imminent global expansion.
