New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Manchester's most promising bedroom pop artist Lucy Deakin reveals the final video for her new EP, 'i got bored'. The new EP also titled 'i got bored' was released on Friday via Manchester label Scruff of the Neck, including new tracks 'close' and 'inmyhead', alongside the singles 'bad in love', 'be alright' and 'we could be'.

Conceptually 'i got bored' documents the peaks and troughs of new romance in a nostalgic early-internet world, and proves beyond a doubt that Lucy Deakin has bops to match the biggest names in pop today.

Her obsession with the genre and its bold and bright 90s aesthetic seeps through in everything she does, and her clear artistic vision has begun to form an equally obsessive online community around her style and music.

Lucy explains… "I drew inspiration from my childhood and growing up with The Sims, MSN Messenger, Disney Channel, and films such as Clueless, playing a large part in influencing the visuals for the EP. My own obsession with pop stars in my childhood informed the 'bad in love' video, allowing me to step into the shoes of idols I looked up to as a child. The tracks vary from portraying the fun carefree world of the internet to the darker side and the toll it can take on my generation."

Speaking on the overarching narrative told throughout 'i got bored', Lucy Deakin adds... "The EP is about all the different stages of a relationship, from the jaded 'bad in love' to the honeymoon feeling of 'close', the inevitable end of the relationship with 'i got bored' and finally exploring the mental aftermath in 'in my head'".

With her first full UK tour postponed to April 2021, Lucy has been building her online presence through striking visuals, stunning sessions, engaging instagram and TikTok lives, and a special live stream with Amazon Music and Twitch at Manchester's iconic venue Band on the Wall, watched by 16k fans.

Born in the thick of 'Generation-Z', Lucy Deakin and producer Karl Ziegler are the quintessential pop duo; writing and recording everything from the latter's bedroom.
Not to be marked simply as 'bedroom pop', the pair aspire to break the mould of the classic pop song formula with production values that stand up against some of their biggest influencers: the anthemic charm of Dua Lipa, Charli XCX's future-pop flavour, and the bold nature of Miley Cyrus.
Lucy's music has already seen her receive substantial support from Spotify with editorial playlisting in New Music Friday UK, Fresh Finds: Pop, New Pop Revolution and Students' Union. She has also been championed by BBC Introducing's Rob Adcock since first uploading her music, with the presenter declaring her as one of his 'Big in 2020'.
