MILCK Shares New Single 'Animal'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer-songwriter, producer and advocate MILCK shares new single "Animal," a song about finding expansion amidst constricted current events in transformative times. Following the release of her recent protest song "We Won't Go Back" with BIIANCO, Autumn Rowe and Ani DiFranco, "Animal" continues the overarching theme in MILCK's new music profile, defined by moments of major changes and emotional shifts that many individuals are also facing over the last few years.

With the release of "Animal," MILCK is debuting one of her most personal songs to date, written after the end of a long-term relationship. MILCK shares, "This song is about how I chose to follow my wild heart, which led me to walk away from a five year relationship. I gave back my engagement ring, and walked into the dark unknown. Now that it's been years I can finally look back and see that the pain of choosing my wild eventually gave way to tremendous awe. 'Animal' is constructed as a steady crescendo, mimicking the process of transformation. I hope this song gives people a cleansing and calming sonic experience, allowing for them to take a few minutes to connect with their animal truths within."
She continues, "No matter how oppressive our environments can be, there is a wild freedom that can be discovered from within."

The recent single "We Won't Go Back" was featured in Billboard, People Magazine and BUST as an urgent anthem created in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. It was created from audio recorded during a protest on the steps of the Supreme Court in DC, which MILCK attended.

Five years ago, MILCK rose to fame around the world for her viral song "Quiet" during the Women's March. "Quiet" became the unofficial anthem of the movement, was named Billboard's No.1 Protest Song, and was selected for NPR's American Anthem Series. MILCK has since established The Somebody's Beloved Fund, to use her music to generate resources for ten grassroots beneficiaries that build power around racial justice, feminism, LGBTQIA+ rights, criminal justice reform and mental health.

Recently, MILCK and Ani DiFranco offered their voices to Billboard's cover story feature 'Roe' Overturned: Music's Leaders on How to Take Action. MILCK's been featured in the Grammy Museum, TIME Magazine, Elle, NPR, The Kelly Clarkson Show and more. She's become an important voice for women's rights and recently spoken at Global Citizen NOW (which also included Billy Porter, Connie Britton and Gayle King), Planned Parenthood's #BansOffOurBodies Livestream, Vital Voices' Global HQ Festival alongside Secretary Hillary Clinton and Diane von Furstenberg, and was featured in the Women Convention by Women's March earlier this month. On the topic of abortion, MILCK has appeared as a guest on the recent episode of Switched On Pop along with Ann Powers of NPR and on Katie Couric's Next Question podcast.
