James McNair (Luke Combs, HARDY, Keith Urban) and Ben Stennis (Tim McGraw, Ronnie Dunn), "Mama Prayed For" is sung from the perspective of a rough-around-the-edges woman accepting that she might not be every mother's dream girl for their son. Patrick reminds us that love isn't always clean-cut and straight edge - sometimes it comes in the form of ripped jeans, tattoos and a wild attitude.
"I bet she didn't get on her knees and pray: 'Dear
Heavenly Father, please send down a 5'6 blonde, whiskey drinking, tattoo lovin', dip spittin', four letter word cussin' when she speaks her mind, woman to love my son,' but here I am," says Patrick. "It turns out that the most important thing we have in common is loving him."
The song follows Patrick's "Never Giving Up On You," which landed on several playlists like Spotify's Wild Country and Next From Nashville, Amazon's Introducing Country, Pandora's Rising Women In Country and New Country Now, Apple Music's Today's Country, New In Country, Country Risers and more.
