New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Melanie Masson has released her new single, Seasons, the follow-up to her acclaimed first single Why Don't You Love Me? and her second self-released single. This is her unique Northern Soul interpretation of the hit Seasons (Waiting on You) and has already received praise from the band themselves with bassist William Cashion hailing it, "a beautiful version". Produced once again by the renowned producer Tristan Longworth and using all live musicians and instruments, this track showcases Melanie's soul searing vocals which hark back to a time where performers wore their hearts on their sleeves and sang with truth, passion and real soul.

The stunning accompanying video was directed by acclaimed Film and TV actress and director Simone Lahbib (currently a regular in Eastenders) and perfectly sets the scene for today's world. Look carefully and you'll also spot Simone in the video alongside Melanie's husband, actor Forbes Masson and her kids! Rik Argent for Plan Bee Films filmed and edited the video.

"I loved the melody and lyrics to Seasons and really connected to it. It felt very reflective yet optimistic and that's the mood I wanted to create for the video. I wanted to send out a positive message. It feels like we're all in the same challenging situation right now. We all have our struggles, our ups and down but there's always hope. It's about hanging on to what's important, taking strength from that and holding onto the belief that better days are coming. It's a message to everyone to hang on in there." - Melanie Masson

Melanie Masson shot to the British public's attention with her powerhouse vocals and heart-rending performances of Janis Joplin's "Cry Baby". With millions of hits on Youtube of her first audition, she very quickly became an X Factor favourite with millions of fans in the UK and from all over the world. Gaining respect and admiration from fans and critics alike, she introduced the X Factor audience to Janis Joplin and blues music then sailed into the live finals and has since continued to thrill fans not only with her music but her intoxicating and loveable personality.

Growing up in Glasgow with performer parents, Melanie started singing in venues all over Scotland from an early age. She first trained at her parents' stage school, studying music and dance, and went on to train in Music and Drama at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh gaining a degree.

She has previously been a solo recording artist on EMI records and a session singer, touring all over the world and performing alongside artists such as Pink and The Stereophonics and had Top 40 hits with WiFi and also with The Bassheads. Married to renowned actor, comedian and writer/director Forbes Masson, Melanie has enjoyed appearing in West End musicals, one of her favourites being The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, where she took the title role to critical acclaim with her impressions of Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield and Edith Piaf among others.
