Melody Gardot & Sting Reveal Brand New Duet "Little Something" Out Today
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) World-renowned singer-songwriter Melody Gardot announces her long-awaited new album along with the release of a highly anticipated single which sees her join forces with 17-time Grammy Award-winning music icon Sting. The duet "Little Something," brings together Gardot and Sting's distinctive vocals on this up-tempo, Latin inflected pop track that is released today on Decca Records/Universal Music. Mixed by 4x Grammy-Award winner, Robert Orton (Lady Gaga, Carly Rae Jepsen, Lana Del Rey) the song was created by Melody Gardot, Sting, his long-time guitarist Dominic Miller and French producer Jen Jis.

Sting says of the duet, "This new song - co-written by my dear friend Dominic Miller - has a simple and infectious joy, and it was so much fun to trade vocals with the exquisite Melody Gardot I hope you can hear the smile in our voices."

Melody adds: "During these complicated times, collaboration is the only saving grace for us musicians. I was so surprised when Jen Jis came to me with this track, and then to find out it was a duet with Sting! While I recognize it is a big switch from my usual musical genre, I loved having the chance to challenge myself with something new....that's what music is all about."

Confined to her home in Paris in May of 2020 Gardot made headlines when she put out a casting call across social media to orchestral musicians unable to work due to COVID-19 quarantine restrictions. With their help, she created a virtual orchestra for her first single release, From Paris With Love. The singer made headlines again in June recording the first COVID safe studio session at London's historic Abbey Road Studios along with the celebrated Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The forthcoming album Sunset in the Blue, available everywhere on October 23 via Decca Records/Universal Music Canada, is an orchestral celebration of her jazz roots. She is reunited with the multi-Grammy award-winning production team of her platinum-selling album My One and Only Thrill: Producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock), arranger and composer Vince Mendoza (Björk, Robbie Williams, Elvis Costello) and the legendary engineer Al Schmitt (Frank Sinatra, Joao Gilberto, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney).

An underlying theme of determination to create and evolve her craft has always been present in Melody Gardot's work but never more so than during the production of Sunset in the Blue, despite all obstacles she has assembled a stunning new body of collaborations in this most challenging of times.
