Merry Ellen Kirk Releases "Ever After" Video
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Merry Ellen Kirk unveils the new video for "Ever After," from her upcoming album, We Are the Dreamers, due out October 23. "Ever After," delves into the end of a dark ethereal fairytale as she walks through lush forests and tranquil waters while passionately pleading "I wish you would stay/Please don't go/Baby I need you now more than ever…Where did we go wrong, 'cause I don't know."

Her passion is enveloping, and as the video moves past the opening lines, viewers are fully embraced by the warmth of the landscape Kirk creates. Lush and vibrant plant life is depicted in a way that makes Kirk's surroundings seem otherworldly. Slowed-down shots and rainbows amplify the fairy-tale effect. All of this compliments the instrumentation, which relies strongly upon ethereal refrains, while hanging onto the organic roots of the track. Amidst all of this, Kirk sings with beguiling vocals as she traverses the forest and beach--dressed like a princess--begging her lover to come home.

About Merry Ellen Kirk
Having spent her early years in Mongolia—her parents were missionaries—Merry Ellen Kirk developed a diverse awareness of the world, and of what music can be when experienced through a different cultural lens. As a child, she began making up little ditties and developed an inescapable desire to create music; after a time, when her family returned home and settled down in Nashville, she came to realize that writing and performing music would have to be a large part of her future. Described by Kirk as sitting "somewhere between Christina Perri & Ingrid Michaelson," her music has slowly evolved into her own full of bright emotional releases to more dark and gritty dream-like ballads.

Praise for
"It has the feel of a love song from the 80s which manages to wear age-old sentiments on its sleeves whilst still sounding original." --Songwriting Magazine
"Charming melodies and a haunting yet familiar vocal." --Drunken Werewolf
