Middle Eastern Singer, TamTam, To Give Special Musical Performances In Washington DC And LA
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / QEWS Entertainment) TamTam has been invited by the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media to perform her popular song "Gender Game" at 3 Global Symposiums in NY on Sept. 22nd, DC on Sept. 23rd and LA on Oct. 6th. She will be performing the opening act in NY and LA, and the closing act at the DC symposium, which will also be live streamed to a global audience.

As a female artist from the Middle East, TamTam has found purpose in delivering the message of global equality for all women through her music. As a philanthropist, she is working closely with the Maram Foundation, a refugee camp that provides resources and food for displaced families from Syria. "I am thrilled to be working with Geena Davis and her Institute. I feel that their message is important in a world that still doesn't widely grant women the same privileges as men," TamTam shared. "We're excited to have TamTam perform her new song, Gender Game which really resonates with our mission. Madeline Di Nonno, CEO, Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media."

These three Symposiums will feature Geena Davis (Academy Award Winning Actor, Founder and Chair, Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media), along with Phumzile Miambo-Ngcuka, PhD (United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women) in New York, Patricia de Stacy Harrison (President and Chief Executive Officer Corporation for Public Broadcasting), in Washington DC and Elizabeth Frank (Chief Content & Programming Officer, AMC Theaters) in Los Angeles. The Institute's new global research will be presented by Stacy Smith, PhD (Associate Professor, USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism) at all three Symposiums.

The Symposiums will also feature panels that explore the global portrayals of women and girls in film and the impact of media on issues concerning women and girls. These events will be organized by the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media in partnership with Women and Girls Lead, Independent Television Service (ITVS), the United States Institute for Peace, UN Women and The Rockefeller Foundation. The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is the only research based organization that has been working within the media and entertainment industry to improve gender balance, reduce stereotyping and create diverse female characters in entertainment targeting children 11 and under.
