NPR's First Listen Premieres ALA.NI's Debut Album 'You & I' Out June 9 Via Missing Piece Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On June 9, the British-born, Paris-based artist ALA.NI will release her debut album You & I through Missing Piece Records. Today, the album premiered in its entirety via NPR Music's First Listen series. Bob Boilen stated, "You won't hear another record that sounds like this one this year, or dare I say this decade."

You & I is now available for pre-order and include instant downloads of "Cherry Blossom," "Darkness at Noon" and "Suddenly."

Recently, La Blogothéque filmed one of ALA.NI's concerts, complete with a string section, at the historic Palace of Fontainebleau in France. ESSENCE premiered a video of ALA.NI performing "Suddenly" at that performance, calling her "simple, sweet, and elegant....'Suddenly' feels like being transported through time. Her vocals are filled with nostalgia and romance..."

NPR Music's All Songs Considered played the album's first single "Cherry Blossom" on the show and said "It can be quite refreshing when a contemporary musician bypasses 75 years of musical history. 'Cherry Blossom,' from British-born, Paris-based ALA.NI, sounds like a traditional pop tune of a time gone by, even down to the crackled recording. ALA.NI evokes greats like Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf — but in 2017, she's something all her own."

"Cherry Blossom" premiered via The Fader, who called it "a majestic ode to the first stages of love... ALA.NI's classic and jazzy voice saunters across the alluring instrumental as she woos the special someone who she longs to be with." LADYGUNN premiered the "Cherry Blossom" video, saying "This video establishes Alani as an ethereal visionary. Alani's angelic face partnered with her haunting vocals will leave you spellbound."

Interview Magazine recently published a photoshoot and feature interview with ALA.NI alongside the premiere of the video for "Darkness At Noon," the second single to be released from the forthcoming album. Haley Weiss of Interview called You & I "...a testament to her vocal talent and willingness to plunge into her emotions, be they joyous, sorrowful, or considered."

Earlier this year, ALA.NI made her first-ever trip to the United States to perform songs from this album for NPR Music's Night Owl series, Paste Magazine and WNYC's Soundcheck.

Tour Dates:
6/19: New York, NY - Rockwood Music Hall
6/21: New York, NY - Central Park Summerstage
