"A musician, on the basis of the début track who has far to travel in the world of music" - EMERGING INDIE BANDS
"Bella Barton's leading voice has the depth and soul of any great singer." - STEREO STICKMAN
Bella Barton is a singer / songwriter from South East London. She is currently studying Visual Arts at the BRIT School, whose glittering alumni include Amy Winehouse,
Leona Lewis and Adele.
Bella's lazy Bossa Nova inflected songs are romantic visions of Townshend's dystopian 'teenage wasteland' and invoke a deceiving mix of Corrine Bailey Rae,
Lily Allen and early Eighties Tracey Thorn.
Bella is far more than a voice alone however she is by no means a style over substance type artist, often tackling difficult issues such as unwanted sexual advances and misogyny. Indeed her lyrical subject matter has lead to an appearance on BBC
Radio 4 'The Listening Project' and an invite to The
Houses Of Parliament from the feminist lobbying group UK Feminista.
Her Summer '17 single, Daughter attracted glowing reviews and made good numbers on all platforms - see the video here… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9HYC68nqYw
Bella has now completed the stunning ten songs that constitute her debut album, 'Ten Songs'.
The album is self-penned and co-produced with her father, Tim Barton, who is himself a prolific producer / artist who specialises in TV and Library music.
