Trend setter Sidhartha Mallya, director of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore was the first celebrity to tweet the video urging his followers to "Check out 'Kolaveri Di'… by my main man @Amit_bhojwani" on Thursday, 9th February.

Shortly after, Anusha Dandekar, MTV VJ, actress and member of Band D-major, an opening act for Akon, labeled the new video by her "very dear friend…super talented" Amit Bhojwani as a "must watch."

"Awesome stuff!" exclaimed new critically acclaimed actress Parineeti Chopra winner of this year's Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Next model and leading Kannada film star Jennifer Kotwal tweeted, "heard n'it's gr8."
In the United States, MSNBC journalist Dave Weigel also retweeted the Kolaveri video. Weigel had in January retweeted Ankit Love's sic-fi music video odyssey "Beethoven Burst" which went on to become a No.1 hit on the MTVHive.com top 100 chart. Love is also currently No. 30 on the FMQB radio chart in the States.

While in Cairo, Bradley Hope, correspondent for Abu-Dhabi newspaper the National, kept the Twitter momentum going by also sharing the video.

In London, Arjun, creator of the poplar English remix of "Why this Kolaveri Di," which has nearly 5 million views, tweeted, "@Amit_bhojwani sounds great bro! nice work."

"Thank you to all who have shared... we are so grateful!" replied Love in regards to these and numerous other tweets.

Outside Twitter, it was played at the after party of the newly formed Bangladesh Premier League of Cricket on Friday night.

In South Africa, Argentine pro footballer Nick Gindre goalkeeper for the Mpumalaga Black Aces, exclaimed, "I love it!" and requested a copy to play at the Saturday launch party of his FTSA gym club.

By Monday it was being played at the Zayed Stadium, Abu-Dhabi during the England vs. Pakistan cricket match.

Background:
Ankit Love and Amit Bhojwani have been long-time friends, going to boarding school together at ACS Cobham in Surrey, UK. It was there they first collaborated performing together in high school talent shows.

Bhojwani previously wrote and performed the heartwarming "A Tribute to Mumbai" calling for all of India to unite. Made just a week after the tragedy of the 2008 attacks it received numerous comments from those touched by it.

Ankit Love also enlisted for this song the talents of feature film actress and top model Egija Zviedre, published last week in Hello! Magazine's James Bond styled photo shoot for British TV star Mark Wright.

When asked what inspired them create this rap/dance version of Kolaveri, Ankit Love answers, "Love. We just loved the mix of these phenomenal ancient South Indian rhythms, classic melodies, and Tamil slang. When Amit told me of this idea, I totally dug the opportunity to this beautiful culture around the world."

Amit Bhojwani elaborates he "phoned up Ankit and half jokingly suggested making a rap version, but Ankit said, 'Let's do it,' and within a couple of hours we were in studio recording it! Things moved fast, we even filmed it while only half way through recording."

Love, who also directs the video, recalls, "All the singing performances were filmed in just one take, and that's what makes it so endearing and organic to watch."

Why this kolaveri di?
So through this artistic process are they any closer to answering "Why this kolaveri di?" Ankit Love smiles, "No. But that's what makes it so appealing. It's like a black hole… even theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking admitted that he spends most of his time thinking about women and stating that they 'are a complete mystery.'"
