Nicki Minaj Congratulates Cardi B On Her "Record Breaking Achievement"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Nicki Minaj is proud of her fellow New Yorker, Cardi B. The Queens rapper sent out a message congratulating Cardi B on "Bodak Yellow" hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts Monday (Sept. 25).
Cardi Bt became the second solo female rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100, following Lauryn Hill's 1998 reign.

Nicki Minaj, who owns the record for most Hot 100 entries of all time amongst female artists, was one of many stars celebrating Bardi's "Bodak Yellow" victory:
"Congratulations to a fellow NEW YAWKA on a RECORD BREAKING achievement," she tweeted. "Bardi, this is the only thing that matters!!! Enjoy it💕💞🎀 @iamcardib."

Friend and fellow MC Lil' Kim also sent her well wishes. "Congratulations to my baby cakes @iamcardib I always knew this day would come and I am so happy and proud of U!" wrote the Queen Bee. "Keep killin it baby! U deserve every bit of it."

Missy Elliott, who received writing credit on the star-studded chart-topper "Lady Marmalade," which featured Lil' Kim, Christina Aguilera, Mya, and Pink, also celebrated the Bronx rapper. "Congratulations @iamcardib for having a #1 record in the country that's not as easy as it seem this huge," she wrote. "🙌🏾 May u have continued blessings🙏🏾."

Kehlani added to the praise by explaining how significant this victory was, not only for Bardi, but also for others. "this is a win for every woman who was ever told they couldn't or wouldn't. this is for every little black and brown girl in every hood with all odds against them and their dreams," she wrote. "this is for @iamcardib who has defied all odds from day fuckin one remaining humble and her true authentic self. HERSTORY IS MAAAAADE I could cry I feel like she everybody favorite cousin😩 we love you girl we are ALL. ROOTING. FOR. YOU!!"

Others, including Mike WiLL Made-It, also offered their support and props. "Big salutes to @lmCardiB !!!!! I feel like it's my #1 and I Dnt even know shawty like that lol, gotta be the illest shit fr, the whole grind," he tweeted. "Big Respect. 💯."

Meanwhile, Rita Ora added: "BOSS moves! Representing where you from and who you are is what it's all about! For all girls everywhere!!!! Keep going girl! Congratulations beautiful ❤️❤️❤️."
