Orlando Boy Band Far Young Debuts With Release Of First Original Song, Dance Video Contest
Orlando, FL (Top40 Charts/ Far Young official website) The Orlando-based band, created by Tim Coons, original music producer for the seven-time Grammy-nominated Backstreet Boys, will release the song "#Everything" June 24 on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play, Xbox music, and more. A contest to find the winners of the best video featuring fans performing the "#Everything" dance kicks off June 18.

They've been together less than six months as the boy band Far Young™ and Eben Franckewitz, Jackson Owens and Christian Wossilek have already crossed the threshold into the professional music business with the production of their first original song and a dance video contest that gives the winners a chance to appear in the band's upcoming music video.

The Orlando-based band, created by Tim Coons, original music producer for the seven-time Grammy-nominated Backstreet Boys, will release the song "#Everything" June 24 on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play, Xbox music, and more. A contest to find the winners of the best video featuring fans performing the "#Everything" dance kicks off June 18. Fans will get a first glimpse of the dance that day during the band's appearance at TEENHOOT in San Diego.

Contest participants have until June 22 midnight (EST) to upload their videos to Vine and/or YouTube using "#WinEverything" and enter their submission at fam.faryoung.com, where contestants will also find a video teaching the dance. The number of people per contest entry is limited to four.

Voting begins June 18 and ends June 25 at midnight. The video with the most "thumbs up" votes from friends, family and other fans wins.

The winners will be announced via live stream on the band's website June 26. They'll travel to Orlando between July 15-18 to meet Far Young™ and make a guest appearance in the "#Everything" music video.

The song and contest are milestones in what band members say they hope will be many years of "appearing together and making great music."

"I've been in the music industry and worked with some of the most successful bands, including the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, so I can say with all confidence that Far Young™ has the potential to become the next billion-dollar boy band," said Coons, founder and CEO of Atlantic Hill Music and a two-time Grammy nominee.

During his 35 years in the music business, Coons has worked with bands and artists spanning the musical spectrum, from teen music sensations JoJo and Colby O'Donis to veteran musicians Steven Stills, Glen Fry, Arlo Guthrie, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and The Grateful Dead. And from 1979 to 1982, he was a successful recording artist in his own right with BMG Ariola Records, the largest record label in Europe.

Last year, Coons began searching for members to form a boy band and found each of the boys, bringing them together earlier this year.

"Eben, Jackson and Christian are already incredibly talented singers, songwriters and musicians," Coons said. "Each of them brings unique musical abilities and strengths to the band — all acquired at a very early age — and that's one reason Far Young™ is such an amazing band."

Born in Brandon, Florida, Franckewitz, 17, was the youngest contestant ever to become a top-12 male finalist on "American Idol" during the show's 11th season in 2012. Wossilek, 14, won a two-year management contract after being named overall winner of a talent hunt competition in his home state of Alabama. And 16-year-old Owens became known as a singing prodigy of his native New Zealand at age 10, earning international attention as a contestant and live audition qualifier on "New Zealand's Got Talent" and New Zealand's gold-medal winner at the World Championship of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. He was also hand-selected by "Australian Idol" winner Stan Walker as an opening act during his nationwide winner's tour.

Each band member sings and plays at least one instrument. Wossilek plays five, including the ukulele.

As Far Young™, the trio has already amassed a loyal and growing fan following of 136,000-plus via social media and appeared at the 2014 Playlist LIVE Orlando (Florida) event, which drew 35,000 attendees; the 2014 New Revolution Music Tour in Cincinnati and New Orleans; and the EGO Tour at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

After TEENHOOT in San Diego, next up for the band are appearances at the USA National Miss pageant in Daytona Beach, Florida, June 27-28, and the Miss America pageant meet and greet filmed by ABC-TV in Orlando in August.

Appearance dates, contest details, more information about the band and media resources are available at faryoung.com.
