Music Group, Inc. has recently signed a worldwide administration deal with producer/composer Donny Markowitz, co-writer of the Oscar, Golden
Globe and ASCAP Song of the Year award winning "(I've Had The) Time of My Life" (from the hit motion picture Dirty Dancing).
"Time of My Life" is having a major resurgence in pop culture, fueled by a featured performance in the Nov. 30 episode of the smash FOX series Glee (as well as inclusion on the Glee: The Music, Vol. 4 soundtrack out the same day) as well as the Nov. 30 release of the Black Eyed Peas' new album The Beginning, featuring their new hit single "The Time (Dirty Bit)" (which features a sample of the Markowitz / Franke Previte / John DeNicola hit). The Black Eyed Peas are confirmed to perform this single during their Feb. 6, 2011 Super Bowl halftime show.
"It's a thrill to be riding the 'Time of My Life' wave again with Michael Eames and PEN. I could not be more satisfied with our collaboration." comments Markowitz, who just finished producing a blues/roots DVD/CD for the band Blinddog Smokin' featuring legendary bluesmen Bobby Rush, Carl Weathersby and Billy Branch. The project is scheduled for an early 2011 release.
